The University of Ghana
The University of Ghana was founded by the British in 1948 and used to be affiliated with the University of London. It is the oldest and largest university in the nation.
The late United Nations General Secretary, Kofi Atta Annan, was Chairman of the University. He passed the baton to Mary Chinnery-Hesse as the first woman chairman, and Nana Aba Appiah Amfo as Vicechairman.
Ideas such as south-south collaboration (considering Mexico as a southern country) and grants from the “global north” were brought to the table.
The introduction to the university leaders was done by His Royal Majesty Togbe Afede XIV through the intersession of Prof Oteng Ababio.
I look forward to a long-lasting relationship between the University of Ghana and the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León.
